A pair of youths who allegedly broke into Salem Lutheran School here in Orange and left anarchist symbols on lockers turned themselves in and agreed to pay for the damage, police said today.
Police Sgt. Dan Adams said the youths were not part of the 500-member, kindergarten-through-eighth-grade student body of the private Christian school.
Adams said the juveniles attempted — but failed — to break into one of the classrooms on Oct. 6. Instead, the pair used a black marker to leave a row of anarchist symbols on about eight lockers, causing roughly $200 worth of damage.
Dan Ventura, executive director at Salem Lutheran, said the vandalism appeared to have been a random act.
Adams said the parents of one of the alleged vandals contacted the school about a week after the break-in. Both youths turned themselves in.
“Restitution was agreed upon and the case was closed,” Adams said.

Well, some character after all.
They ever catch the people that vandalized University HS last year?
.Forgiveness is what Christians are about.
morons.
Good for the parents of these miscreants. Now cane them with a bamboo cane soaked in linseed oil to let their deeds sink into thier pea brains. I worry about the future of some of our youths.
Cane their parents with them. That will cut down on youth crime.
Bravo, parents. It is refreshing to know some parents will teach their children responsibility by holding their children accountable for their misdeeds.
By the way, what is an anarchist symbol?
Great parenting
Nice to see these days. Thank you to the parents and the children who turned themselves in.
